RICKETY ROCKETEERS

CAPE CANAVERAL GENERAL DYNAMICS RETIREES AND PAST EMPLOYEES

INTRODUCTION

"Rickety Rocketeers" is the name of our bi-monthly newsletter, but it seems like a good name for our web page, too. The group meets for breakfast on the last Thursday of every other month (odd numbered months)at the Ramada Inn on Friday Road in Cocoa, Florida, to talk over old times and keep up with other members current status. We have over 300 members on our mailing list and approximately 80 to 100 people attend the breakfasts. Our members have worked on the Atlas launch vehicle at Cape Canaveral from its first launch in 1957 as an intercontinental ballistic missile all the way to its current configuration as a commercial launch vehicle with the liquid hydrogen fueled Centaur as its second stage. They include mechanics, instrumentation and electrical technicians, engineers, quality control, material, administrative and clerical workers. For further information, contact Joe Kadlec or Dan Schmidt .
